This is the kind of pizza I remember eating as a kid. At the roller rink. No sauce, and thin, greasy cheese that sloughs off the slice once you bite into it. And the call themselves "New York City Pizza"? They should be ashamed.

I agree with all, really great pizza. The Sicilian Meat Lovers was absolutely great (Huge.) I have been there twice and both times were on Saturday night. The place was crazy, most people were waiting over an hour for their orders and some were not very happy. I guess since most people get to the Island on Saturday everyone is looking for an easy meal? I would highly recommend New York City Pizza, just not Saturday night.

Another great pizza this year. Our family has been here 15 straight years and always save one night for New York City pizza. We love it.

I thought it was pretty good! Service was great, atmosphere was good and pizza was good!

Best pizza in the Hilton Head area, hands down. I've had their white pizza and their chicken parm pizza. Both were excellent.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat while on vacation in HHI, and enjoyed some really good pizza!! Relaxed environment, not fancy in the least...just down right good people and good food. Can't beat it. Enjoyed some garlic breadsticks with warm marinara as a starter and they were delicious as well! We were in and out in 30-45 minutes, but enjoyed our lunch and will definitely return on our next trip to the beach!

Sorry excuse for pizza. My wife and I have decided this was the worst pizza we've ever eaten. Crust bland, sauce watered down, veggie toppings weren't fresh. Heed the other reviews. We didn't listen because it was convenient to Coligny square, but ANYTHING else is worth getting in your car or on a bike.

This place was just what the other reviewers said. We went last night, August 4th, 2009. I have been to the island before - this was my first time eating here. It's nothing fancy but everything we has was good. Even my mother, who is extremely picky enjoyed her meal. It's a great place for large families b/c it is priced reasonably. We had two entrees and a pizza - one glass of wine, side salads, bill was $60 without tip, $72 with - we left full and happy. The chicken parm dinner was really good - sauce was decent. Chicken was nice and not too thick. Pizza was yummy. The wine list is nothing great - just your basics. Would definitely go back. I think we had a new waitress - she had to go to the kitchen to ask everything we asked her. But she was prompt and efficient.......worth checking out!

A friend and I went for salads on a Friday night. I had their Greek salad, which had pickled veggies, which was a nice twist. And it was LOADED with feta cheese...yummy! I also had medium buffalo wings, which were awesome...just hot enough not to burn the skin off my lips! My friend had soup and a salad (can't remember what types because I was so busy enjoying my own dinner), but she raved about both. It was so good that she went back the next day for another salad and a slice of pizza. She had ground beef and feta cheese (to each his own!) and said it was great pizza. The staff were all very friendly...oh, and their sweet tea was the best I've had. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in Hilton Head.

Really great pizza, friendly staff. They're open till eleven or midnight on the weekends and it was absolutely dead. But, they whipped us up an excellent chicken parm pizza (with bacon on top), handed us a few cold beers while we waited, and didn't seem to mind us crawling in right before they closed. They had a sweet 20-game old-school video game that had pac-man, galaga, frogger, donkey kong, etc. AND a game was still only a quarter.

  • Jessica C.

This pizza was good. The breadsticks were tough tasted like they were from the day before. My sister got a greek salad and loved it. Very generous with the toppings. Good place to try to get away from the other resteraunts that are a little overpriced. Service could of been better but that seemed like a trend in hilton head.

I'm a discerning pizza consumer and New York pizza is my favorite. We tried this place after a walk on the beach and were very happy with the pie we ate. Really good crust. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the the environment. Leftovers were brought home and instantly consumed by others. We would definitely go back.

I got the sicilian. It's very very difficult for people other than new yorkers to get this one right. They knocked it out of the park! The bottom of the pizza was crispy, which my experience has been most folks miss this. It was not too doughy. The place is very very clean. Our server, Lindsay was very nice and professional. What was shocking is my wife and I ate for less than $25. Not too sure how that happened in light of this being hilton head island! But I was very pleased and I'll definitely be back when I vacation here again. A $20 sicilian is exceptionally reasonable. If it was socially acceptable, I'd have put my face in it and blown!

We eat here every year when we visit HHI. The pizza is solid. It's New York style. Thin with a chewy crust. Just enough sauce and plenty of topping choices. The salads and subs are also very good. They serve wine, beer, and also have a full bar. There is plenty of space to dine-in. The restaurant is also very clean and decently decorated. Prices are good, especially for being in a very touristy area.

Very clean, super friendly, great service, full bar and wine and our pizza was really good.. Would definitely be back

Price is good for food and alcohol at a beach restaurant = +1 star Service was polite, attentive, quick, food was prepared quickly = +1 star Restaurant is dim, but lit well enough for dinner. Plenty of seating at tables, booths, and bars. It is clean and the delicious smell fills the restaurant. Location of this restaurant is super close to Coligny circle. It's within walking distance from my hotel. = +1 star Bartender uses warm glasses for beer & does a pretty good pour. Pizza crust had the perfect crunch to it. It could have used a little more olive oil, but it was still good. The multiple cheeses were baked perfectly. It's not the best pizza I've had, but still awesome. = +2 stars I have no complaints about this restaurant.

Ordered delivery on a Saturday. Dough was tough and crust was hard as a rock. We only had one slice each and decided to eat elsewhere

We walked in and were greeted right away by a nice female server. I didn't catch her name but she was a black girl, small bun in her hair and very attentive to the table behind me who strangely said their salad was good but a little sweet, but good. Confused by the comment, myself, I listened to her do everything in her power to market right..an she really did. Nevertheless the complaint was odd because the mother eating it insisted it was fine and wouldn't allow her whatsoever to change, take it back and/or correct it. Anyways, we approached the pick up bar area for a few slices to go and had a beer while we waited. The German bartender threw me off at first as her resting facial expression/her expression as we approached seemed as though the gears upstairs were in silent judgmental mode. Maybe it's because we are a young tattooed couple in an area of mostly rich, elderly tourists? Perhaps she was surprised to encounter people who look "artsy" and not in the late stages of their adulthood? Nevertheless she was a warm and welcoming bartender. Easy and fun to talk to with no hint of attitude whatsoever. I give them 4 stars only because the 3 slices we order seemed to have been sitting for awhile before being heated up for us. I can tell by the cheese as my father owned a similar style pizza pub for 25 years. After 25 years you notice small things like the age of a pizza. In all honesty though, we did sit for 30 minutes and drink a beer so it could've been that time passing but once again, after 25 years of experience, I doubted that. It was edible and good. Didn't make us sick at all, just not as fresh as I had hoped. My wife said her pasta fagoli soup was awesome, but they did forget to give us a spoon which sucked considering we were on the road. I would definitely go back.

Skip the buffalo chicken pizza. I ordered a carry out order and assumed there must have been a side of sauce that was left off. When I called to inquire I was informed that the sauce was baked Into the pizza. I guess they missed a step and didn't seem concerned. Shelter cove ny city pizza location.

  • Adam W.

Excellent food. Pizza reminded me of growing up in New York. Finally a place that advertises "New York" style pizza was able to deliver. Great ziti and fettuccine Alfredo. Highly recommend.

    (5)
  • Steve W.

Cheap and chintzy. Served quarter glass of wine as a full glass. Charged for salad dressing. Pizza no better than grocery store frozen. Will not be back. (Shelter Cove location)

  • Mary E.

Friday night is our family pizza night. So we continued the tradition on vacation. There was a wait for our pizza to get made, but so very worth the wait. Food was awesome and service was great, especially considering how busy they were.

The pizza i had here today wasnt great. Ive been here 2 or 3 times over the past few years....but i seem to remember it being better. Nice place....id go back but not for pizza.

  • M S.

Buyer beware! Although the place appears clean and the people serving are friendly, my entire family got food poisoning from this restaurant having their 16" pizza (cheese) and something that appeared to be chicken strips...but really did not look the part. It mirrored more of a deep-fried fish fillet party than anything with burnt marks from where the cooks used a spatula to cook it faster. Friendly Staff - Yes. They were all doing their job. Food Presentation - No. They definitely missed the mark. I travel to NYC often and enjoy a good pizza pie...this place doesn't come close. The pizza was undercooked and it appeared like the dough was not thoroughly cooked. It was more like a pizza soup platter. Taste - No. Maybe my family came in on an "off day" because what I'm experiencing now was not worth what I ate and paid for last night. Cleanliness - Yes. Place was clean and displayed their "A" rating on the front door. Overall - No. I suppose if you want to be sick while on vacation, go to this place. If not, order from one of the chain pizza places.

I come to NYCP all the time being from Hilton Head Island and its one of my favorite places! This place has the same great food and service as their other locations, a great atmosphere and is in a really nice location. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for some good pizza on the Island!

    (5)
  • M J H.

This is the best pizza we have had on HH and contrary to others' experiences the service we received was excellent. Drinks and salad in minutes and the pizza was there in 15 min versus the 20 the waitress had advised. Great family dinner.

    (4)
  • Maddie K.

New York Pizza was good, but the wait to get the food took a while to get. The wators are friendly and they made sure you were always satisfied. The reason I have 2 stars is because I disappointed with the Caesar salad. Instead of Caesar dressing they put this different anchovy dressing on and I did not like it. It ruined the salad honestly and I didn't even eat it...

    (2)
  • Shaun M.

Oh my!!!! I think a name change would do everyone justice. Maybe to something like Hilton Head Pizza. The server was very pleasant, but the pizza wasn't. I do appreciate the fact that they use a carrot base sauce, versus a tomato base one. However it wasn't the sauce it was the misconception of "New York" pizza that had my expectation a tad bit higher. But the Long Island was on point. I guess that's why everyone was at the bar.

    (2)
  • Marissa S.

Wellll.. Read reviews, decided to go through with the order anyway as it is very close to my condo. Ordered two pizzas- Hawaiian and NYC special ( which is like supreme ). Hawaiian was like I've never had before- very small bits of ham and barely any in each bite. The supreme was lacking green peppers as advertised. I'd say drive the extra 5 miles and get somethinh good!

  • Tim L.

Been eating here for 4 or 5 years every time we come to Hilton Head. Great food, fun and friendly staff, fun ambiance; and overall great casual place with something for everyone. Pizza is great as are all the wraps.

    (5)
  • Big C.

Reviews are all over the place here but I've never had a bad experience. We usually just pick up some pies to go so can't really speak of dine in but the pizzas have sways been authentic and top notch coming from a pizza snob.

    (4)
  • John C.

Got here at 9 and boy was I hammered. I guess drinking all day on a beach and playing volleyball will do that to you. We started out with bud light limes and millers but got into the harder stuff as the day wore on. We started playing short guys vs tall guys and thought it might be a mistake but those lanky bastards proved slow and lethargic. We won. The milf scene on the beach wasn't bad either. Anyway the pizza was good.

    (4)
  • Scott W.

The pizza was OK....above average but with standards going up they need to up their game. Crowed, noisy family place with plenty of energy and good service. If you are on a budget and have the kids in tow....and want a pizza night in Hilton Head...you won't be unhappy. Go have some fish .....your on the Atlantic for gosh sakes!

    (3)
  • Salmaan T.

This isn't New York City and neither is the pizza. It's fine for the island. The people were very nice but the pizza was average. Ok for the kids. They do have a few arcade games which reminded me of my childhood, so kid friendly.

    (3)
  • Todd L.

It is hard to believe a pizza place could mess up an Italian Sub. One of the worst things I have ever eaten. It was all bread and no substance inside, and the bread wasn't that good. The tomatoes were rubbery and not ripe. Extremely disappointed. Stay away from this place!

    (1)
  • Deb S.

Agree with the previous reviewer. NOT New York City Pizza. Somewhere along the line of Papa John's, average. Nice people, quick service and they offered other menu items that we did not try that may be better.

    (2)
  • Jo U.

Very disappointed. We had the worse server in the world. We ate at Bluffton location. The food was ok but before we took off our jackets the waitress asked what we wanted to drink. I said please let us sit down first. At the end of the meal I was still eating, she collected the dishes and brought the check. How rude she was.

    (2)
  • Brent B.

Pizza was very mediocre and no better than a decent frozen pizza. Garlic bread is not good at all. Order taker was confused, but after several reiterations she got it right. One pizza although correct had only cheese on one slice. The second pizza was completely wrong. We called back and got a refund for the wrong pizza but the manager was unapologetic and didn't make us feel confident that our card would be credited.

    (2)
  • John D.

Good Salads as long as you like a lot of dressing. Pizza is a disaster, deep dish was a burned mess and the thin crust while cooked perfect tasted like a sodium bomb. Do yourself a favor and pass on this place

    (1)
  • John G.

If I could leave no stars it would be fitting. I don't know where to even start. We "tried" eating here on a Sunday night and couldn't even get in. Despite the lack of appeal we thought it must be pretty good if they filled up on a Sunday. We came back the next day on Monday and it was totally dead. We received no silverware, the plates came out with crusty food dried on them and not one but two totally filthy glasses to drink from. Out kids tried and refused to eat the pasta and I don't know how you mess up pasta. Our pizza came but we didn't eat it. In fact the entire family lost their appetite and we left without eating a thing. They were nice enough to box up the untouched pizza that we promptly took and dumped into the garbage bin at our condo. Not a chance I would consider feeding my family anything that comes from this place. Please if you are considering eating here go anywhere else. I have not been this disgusted by a restaurant in longer than I can remember.

  • Robert H.

Had a slice of pizza. It was great. Service, to be honest was so couldn't give a toss attitude better places around the corner. Shame as the food and place we're decent. Invest in your people damn it......

    (3)
  • Brian S.

LUNCH SPECIALS ARE SPECTACULAR HERE! Even though this pizza isn't 100% authentic NYC pizza they give it a good try. They are about 75% there. The reason I am now a fan of this joint is for their fantastic lunch specials. Slice of pizza, large side salad and drink for @$6.00. You CAN'T beat that!

    (4)
  • Greg N.

Wow. To call this restaurant New York City Pizza is an insult to pizza lovers everywhere! Having grown up in New York (and also having lived in Chi-Town) I know what good pizza is, and believe me, this ain't it! The crust was too thick and doughy - even though we asked for it to be "well done" - and was topped with a sauce devoid of any real tomato character, an extraordinarily bland mozzarella, and a generic-looking (and tasting) sausage. On the plus side, the food was served quickly, our server was efficient and attentive, and the price was reasonable (something you don't find a lot of on HHI). I can't imagine that we would ever return there.

    (2)
  • Nick M.

The food was just fine. My friends got pizza and loved it, and we got wings and a giant salad that was also great. The servers just were not good...seemed like mostly just high schoolers, but if you run a full bar, then they should be educated by the manager enough to bring drinks. I ordered a whiskey and coke, and she scrambled for a minute to find the brand called "well." Then asked me to look at her ordering screen for the one I'd want. Next came a near full glass of only whiskey. "Is there coke in this?" I asked, and she had no idea. Finally I sent her back to put coke atop my straight well whiskey. Sigh. My aunt ordered a Miller Lite but got Michelob, most likely because it stared with "m." Looking at other reviews, it seems service and knowledge has been a lacking problem. Overall, the food was good but nothing I'd go back for.

    (3)
  • Jeff C.

The food was really good but over priced. Pizza and Buffalo Chicken Wrap were good but can get it at a franchise chain for half the price.

    (3)
  • Chuck S.

Got two subs to go and all I can say is the worst sub ever had. My wife and I both have had stomach problems since trying to eat them !

    (2)
  • L R.

The pizza was pretty good. The crust is bland. The service was great! I didnt get her name but we ordered takeout and her customer service skills were right on. When we went in to pick up she was just as friendly and accommodating. Since we arrived at HH she is the nicest by far!

    (3)
  • Eric Z.

This pizza was just ok. The crust was too hard (overcooked?), if the crust was softer it would probably have been a good pizza. The service was good, but I'd recommend going elsewhere for good pizza.

    (3)
  • Cat S.

Pizza is great. I'm from NYC and this can be very closely compared. Whenever we visit, this is our go-to for late nights or getting off the beach.

    (5)
  • Catherine P.

Pizza was overcooked. Was told to pick up in 45 minutes. Tasted like it sat there for 30 minutes. Yuck! Won't go there again. Charge ya 2 more dollars to add pepperoni.

    (1)
  • Bob W.

we ordered 2 Italian subs. they were not very good. they had little meat , just ham and cheese and lot of lettuce and onion on a stale roll. Also there was no seasoning or oil/vinger or italian dressin. we called the next day and spoke with john the manager. very nice and very apologetic. he gave us a nice gift certificate and promised we would be happy. we will try again. that was great customer service

    (3)
  • Sabrina Z.

I like variety to my pizza. NYC Pizza had a nice selection of pizzas to choose from. We went later in the evening. Looking around the dining room there were tons of seats open, but it still took them about 20 minutes to seat our party of 4. They took forever bringing our appetizers: garlic bread and mozzarella sticks. The breading on the sticks is a little awkward- I would not recommend them. We got a regular sausage pepperoni pizza and then their white pizza add chicken. The chicken was just okay, but the pizza had a nice fresh taste to it.

  • William P.

I'm a local and have been to New York City Pizza many, many times over the last four years. Initially, the service was great as was the food. My last three visits confirmed that the food has hit rock bottom and the service was poor. I ordered a carry out small pizza and a Greek salad. The bartender had an attitude attack regarding my request for anchovies , which I agreed to pay extra for. The quality of the ingredients, I believe is the problem. The amount of grease accumulating in the box was unbelieveable. My Greek salad was a wedge of lettuce, a small cup of really horrible dressing a three anchovies, "which I paid extra for".This was a great place for awhile, I really think they rested on their laurels and became complacent. It's a shame, I miss a good New York pizza

  • Jakop G.

Great food and atmosphere. Friendly waitstaff. I had the BBQ chicken pizza and it was fantastic .

    (4)
  • Amanda W.

My husband and I ordered a large Columbus pizza for delivery on our first night in Hilton Head. There was some confusion with the drivier and our payment method, however he did say it was his first night and was curtious. The pizza was delicious, flavorful and the crust was memorable. Friends who have previously visited HHI said nothing beats their favorite other name pizza joints on the island, but I feel no regrets, great pizza!

    (4)
  • Yelper G.

Pizza was ok. We got some slices, they were not heated thoroughly and a little cardboard-y like. Also ordered two salads. The garden salad was literally about 10 pieces of small pieces of lettuce. Dressing (basalmic) was basically all solid with tons of minced garlic in it. Never order that dressing. Very loud. Would not return. Friendly waitress though and expensive for what we had.

    (2)
  • Aerial F.

The pizza really wasn't that great but I love that you can see the guy cooking it! This is a great family environment very clean and the service was great! Also their are a lot of TVS at the bar area if sports and beer is what you desire. But I think their is some workplace romance going on because the bartender would leave and start screaming at someone in the back and another waiter/waitress would have to go get her and or help us! But other than that drinks were good!

    (3)
  • Jenn C.

Stopped in with the girl kid and parents. Pizza was fantastic, actually NY style. Wait staff was nice and helpful.

    (4)
  • Patricia G.

If you get over that it's not actually NY style pizza, it's a decent place. Pizza is ok, made fresh. A little on the bland side. The salads are a bit of a different story - my house salad didn't come with all the things listed in the menu, but what was on it was fresh, and the dressings appeared to be house made. My husband's salad (with grilled fish on top) took almost an hour to come out, and the fish tasted microwaved. Since the manager comped it due to its late arrival, we didn't say anything. We ordered a basket of fries as an appetizer as well, and never even got that. Our waitress was very nice, however, and checked back with us multiple times, and was very apologetic about the food. All the problems seemed to be back in the kitchen. We'll probably try to find another pizza place next time we're on vacation.

    (2)
  • Michael C.

Arrival night meal, so expectations were low while hunger was high. The pizza was ok, but for the prices I came away feeling like we could have gone out somewhere and done better. I realize it's HHI so I wasn't expecting a bargain but for the cost I would have expected more. Be careful when ordering, three locations and I accidentally called the wrong store. They were adaptable though, kudos for that.

    (3)
  • Brian F.

Was in the mood for NY style pizza, so figured we couldn't go wrong here. Our waitress Bridget was very good and made sure that our pizza came out well done and crispy as we had requested. Lots of other choices here, but the only other thing we tried was the zucchini sticks which were pretty good. Good choice for NY style pizza in Hilton Head!

    (3)
  • Tom N.

Seriously long waits on the weekend after say 6. Went back earlier the next day and we were seated promptly. Our waiter said we could only get individual slices at the bar that kinda bugged me. Oh well. We got a 14 inch pizza for about 14 dollars (with chicken) it was pretty good. Nothing fantastic, but good. Our drinks were kept filled the entire time we were there and the pizza did not take long to come out. If you're in the mood for pizza after a day at the beach this will work.

    (3)
  • Ryan P.

Was it good for you? I've had better.... That about sums it up, but maybe we ordered the wrong menu item with the chicken parm pizza. Also, the service was slow for a weeknight. If I am missing the boat here, please, someone let me know. This was our first time to HHI and we plan to go back often.

    (3)
  • Beth R.

Typical pizza joint except that it is above average. The pizza and salads are good. They are extremely accommodating to large parties and kids. The staff is friendly and attentive. My large family with several children makes a visit every year on vacation.

    (3)
  • Garrett M.

Cheese sticks were great. They charged $.50 per honey mustard request without stating it was extra (but it's great with the sticks!). Rest of the food was quite mediocre. Friendly. Pizza was too pricey without splitting it with someone.

    (3)
  • CT C.

Very tasty food at reasonable prices. The place is a good choice with young children. There is plenty of background noise for their noise to fade into the background. We ordered two large pizzas: one cheese, one New York City Special. The toppings on the NYCP were still crispy, but the pizza was pizza wasn't watery or anything. Good food, family friendly, low-key.

    (4)
  • Sean M.

    Ok, but not NY style.

    (3)
  • Mandy B.

One of the best pizza joints we've been to in a long time. We ordered a large NY style thin crust with 1/2 veggie and 1/2 clam and it was delish! The ingredients were fresh and it was serve to us right out of the oven. You've got to try the clam pizza! We will definitely be back.

    (5)
  • C F.

I went to NY City Pizza with a party of 7 that had a 6 year old, 3 teens, and 3 adults. Our server was very good and nothing else was that great. No one ate all of their food and no one said that any one item was good or bad. The real issue we had was with a calzone that took forever to cook. Everyone was completely done with the table cleared when the calzone was ready for us to take it to go. The table next to us had some issues with one of their meals and had to send it back. I felt bad for the server that he is wasting his talent as a server at this place.

  • Uv V.

Ordered take out middle of the week. From what I saw it had a nice casual atmosphere. Pizza was all right but better once reheated at home. The Italian sub we ordered was fair too but the roll really needs to be upgraded to make it better. The sandwich came with homemade chips but nothing to dip them in and no pickle. Overall I give it a middle of the road ok.

    (3)
  • M.J. S.

Three strikes and they're out. Strike 1: this absolutely is not thin crust NYC pizza that we love from the joints on 2nd and 3rd avenue and elsewhere in Manhattan. The crust is too thick and was scorched. Strike 2: speaking of scorched, my wife's "local fish" (on a salad) was scorched, which I guess is understandable, since it took 40 minutes to arrive and we were two of only six people in the restaurant at the time for lunch. Strike 3: "Italian" sub -- no way. Even Subway is better. And the "homemade chips" are tasteless. Don't bother.

    (1)
  • Shawn S.

Nice place, just remodeled inside. Wish they would do the same with their pizza. Good staff, have friends that work there. But, for my taste, I find pizza bland and tasteless. I have to admit, I'm not a NY style pizza fan. I like thick, heavy pizza with fresh toppings, spices and robust sauce. I asked for extra pizza sauce and I got tomato paste. Sorry, for me the sauce makes the pizza. There are plenty of pizza joints on the island I would give better ratings too. For me, NY City Pizza is low on that list for the quality of the pizza.

    (2)
  • George N.

Pizza was very good (kids loved it), but Italian sub was very weak. They need to taste some authenthic Italian subs with peppers, spicy meats and toasted to perfection. Pizza crust was perfect NYC example.

    (4)
  • Will S.

We've ordered take-out on three occasions. (They also deliver) All three times the pizzas were solid. Old-fashioned real pizza ovens. They have a nice bar with happy hour specials and tvs, so you can get a drink and watch the game while you wait for your pie. They also do a nice greek salad on the other side of the place, with spicy pickled cauliflower and other things you'd expect in a greek salad. On the not-so-great side they have meatball as a topping which I think is the same thing as the "ground beef". rather than pieces or slices of meatball it was as if they'd sprinkled taco meat on the pie. Watch out for that. When I went to pick up our order the huge dining room was packed and bustling with happy families. The parking lot was full - if it is don't worry, and please don't clog up the parking lot -- there's plenty of parking in the evening over by Bicycle Billies and all around there. (That's a pet peeve I have)

My family stayed in Hilton Head and needed a cheap dinner. I looked this place up on Yelp - we got a large New York Style Margarita pizza. I called the place, they took the order and said it would take about 40 minutes. It was a Friday evening and by the reviews I had read it didn't surprise me. 40 minutes later my dad went to pick it up, and it was DELICIOUS. I spent almost a month in Italy and my meals were basically only pizza, and since I've been back in America there is just nothing that even compares, until I had this. It was spectacular. I can't wait to go back to Hilton Head just so I can eat there again.

Recently spent some on Hilton Head Island and stopped to avoid the heat at New York CIty Pizza! We sat down around 5pm to a pretty much slow restaurant and were seated at probably the worst table in the place which was right in the front baking in the sun! Asked to be reseated since it was 100 outside and we did not need the magnifying glass effect here.. That was the bad part. Good part was the food! Pizza is very tasty and there is a whole lot to go around. We also had fresh cut fries and garlic bread. I know so much for any diet Pizza Fries and Garlic Bread.. It was all perfectly cooked and did not disappoint, even grabbed to go containers and rushed our precious cargo back to the hotel to save for lunch next day... Sad note we tried to get carry out on another evening and we were told it was a 3hr wait for carry out??? Not sure what the deal was but if that were my business I would buy another stove.. I'm Just saying!

We ended up here after finding over an hour wait at the first restaurant we tried. Best thing to happen to us! I was in Italy last summer, and the pizza I had in Bologna is something I dream about. The Vera Pizza Napolitano tasted JUST like it! Delicious red sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil (could have had larger pieces of basil - my only critique). We will be back on future stays o

Just got back from a Trip to Hilton Head and stopped here looking for pizza. Two stars because the pizza was okay (just okay). We first ordered the mozzarella sticks. The middle of the sticks were still cool in the middle, I guess from where they were frozen! We sent those back and got garlic break instead. The garlic bread was tough and chewy. The kicker is that instead of a garlic sauce, the bread was topped with something like melted butter and PILES of minced garlic on top. We scraped off the minced garlic to make the best of it and managed to choke down about three sticks. The taste of garlic was so strong it almost ruined our appetite. I was in the mood for pizza and unfortunately I would have been better off at Pizza Hut, Domino's, or Papa's.

After a hopeless trip of attempting to find the beach the whole family was hungry. Pizza was what everybody wanted so pizza it was. New York City pizza just happened to be on our route. I couldn't say that I've tasted better pizza. Everything tasted homemade and the service was excellent. I can definitely say that we will be visiting New York City pizza again on another trip.

The pepperoni pizza was extremely greasy. It was way too hot in the restaurant. Not a great dinner.

First rule of pizza for northerners - if you call the restaurant New York Pizza, you can guarantee the pizza is the farthest thing from New York pizza. This rule proved true at New York Pizza. The pizza was awful. Close to cardboard with sauce on it. My recommendation would be to skip this place if you are looking for a "good pie." If you are looking to find a large restaurant to take large groups with kids who don't know any better, you have found your pizza home.

Sometimes you just want a good slice of pizza. That's where we found ourselves the other day, at the tale end of a long bike ride, hankering for some good ol' pepperoni pizza. We stopped and asked some local workers, and they recommended New York City Pizza. It was good, a little on the greasy side, but nothing a quick napkin dab couldn't fix. As we waited for our pie to come out I watched the cooks toss the dough in the area just behind the bar, in plain view for all to see. I like that, transparency and real effort and skill. Like I said, the pizza was good, and it sure hit the spot that day.

This place has some of the best pizza I've ever had! The service was spectacular and the atmosphere was very kosher. I stopped by here for a quick bite to eat before an appointment that I had not to far away. The food came fast and was very good. Throughout every bite I kept thinking about who I could bring back with me so that they could enjoy it too. Love it!!

Ordered pizza from here last week for my family. We were looking forward to NY style pizza which it wasn't. We were told it would be 1hr 15mins for delivery which was fine as it was a friday night. So i was surprised when the pizza arrived 20 mins later. They should have been ashamed to deliver that to someone. The pizza was obviously old, it was not hot, the cheese was burnt, and as hard as flat bread. I had to feed that to my children since we just arrived and had nowhere else to go and it was late. We called them and complained and were promised new pies on another night. A few nights later we got our new pies and they were hot and didn't taste bad but they were not great either. I gave them 2 stars because the manager was nice.

Pretty solid thin crust (ny) pizza. Good crust. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
